The course aims to provide specialized training in the field of cell cultures, providing participants with theoretical/practical knowledge about equipment, techniques and types of culture as well as their various applications.

New Edition: From October 20, 2025, to November 28, 2025. For the in-person practical portion, groups of 6 students will be formed. Each group will complete their entire practical (5 hours) in a single day, during the week of November 24–28, 2025. The student will select the day upon pre-registration. 

Pre-registration period: open until september 26, 2025. 

Selection period: september 29 - 30, 2025.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

General Objectives

The objective to be achieved with the realization of this course is to provide specialized and complete training in Cell Cultures, providing participants with the theoretical/practical foundations of cell cultures, types, characteristics of the different types, maintenance and application, as well as everything related to equipment, specific facilities, biosecurity, and the use and applications in biomedical fields as such as Regenerative Medicine, Cell Therapy, Tissue Engineering, also Clinical Trials and basic research, showing the potential in biomedical sciences and its relevance in research.

Specific Objectives
  • Acquire skills and abilities to develop the main techniques for obtaining and handling in vitro cell cultures of different types.
  • Know the legislative framework that applies to quality, biosafety and regulation regulations, in the field of the use of cell cultures in biomedical sciences for their implementation in the centers in which this specialty is developed, which applies to the use of cell cultures in Biomedical Sciences.
  • Acquire basic skills and abilities for the optimized use of equipment, facilities, and knowledge of mandatory work standards in a cell culture laboratory.
  • Acquire the basic skills and abilities for the use and application of cell cultures in the area of Science Biomedical.
Addressed to:
Graduates or degree in Health Sciences, senior technicians in Clinical and biomedical laboratory, senior technicians in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis and laboratory technicians in general.

Methodology:

Mixed, being online theory and face-to-face practices in the facilities of the Coordinating Node of the Biobank in Granada. 

Requirements:
It is an essential requirement to have training related to life sciences health.
