![]() | The SSPA Biobank promotes the biomedical research at the IV State Congress of Bioscience Students held in GranadaThe Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia (SSPA) has actively participated in the fourth edition of the State Congress of Students of Biosciences (CEEB), held in Granada during the month of July. With a prominent presence, the institution reaffirmed its commitment with training and scientific dissemination among the new generations. During the congress, the SSPA Biobank offered two micro-courses aimed at participants. The first consisted of a guided tour of the Biobank Coordinator Node, where students could learn first-hand about the operation of a research biobank, accompanied by an explanatory talk about its key role in the scientific advancement played by this institution. The second micro-course, with a more playful and participatory approach, was a biomedical Escape Room entitled "Bio Code: Hospital Mission". This activity was organized in collaboration with IAVANTE of the Progreso y Salud Foundation, the Preventive Medicine and Public Health Service of the Virgen de las Nieves, and the General Directorate of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Planning. The event was held at IAVANTE's Advanced Clinical Simulation Center. In addition, the SSPA Biobank had an information booth at the forum of companies and entities, where guidance was offered to attendees on the importance of the donation of samples and data for the biomedical research. Interested parties were also invited to register with the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research. With this participation, the SSPA Biobank continues its work of raising awareness and supporting science, bringing biomedical research closer to future professionals in the field of biosciences. |

Campaign on Neurological Diseases This initiative is aimed at people affected by pathologies such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (als), Alzheimer's,. The aim is to create specific collections of samples and data associated with these diseases that can be used by the research community. With this, it seeks to promote progress in the diagnosis, treatment and knowledge of these ailments that affect thousands of people. People diagnosed with a neurological disease or healthy people interested in collaborating as healthy controls can participate in this campaign. Cardiovascular Risk Campaign The cardiovascular risk campaign, aimed at people interested in being part of a study focused on cardiovascular risk factors, one of the leading causes of disease and mortality globally. The requirements that these people must meet are:
