Healthcare Area

The Andalusian Network for Transfusion Medicine, Tissues, and Cells, established by Royal Decree 49/2017, has its own organizational structure dependent on the Andalusian Health Service, which includes management and administrative bodies.

The Andalusian Network for Transfusion Medicine, Tissues, and Cells has eight Centers for Transfusion, Tissues, and Cells—one node per province—that are responsible for the collection, processing, and supply of blood units and blood derivatives to meet the transfusion needs of Andalusian hospitals. As such, it is responsible for supplying blood and blood derivatives to all public and private hospitals in the Autonomous Community.

Additionally, the Centers for Transfusion, Tissues, and Cells respond to tissue and cell requests from healthcare centers, ensuring continuous service to them and coordinating with the Andalusian Transplant Coordination for the programs related to the collection and monitoring of tissue and cell implants.

The Service Portfolio includes the set of scientific, technical, and administrative activities carried out at the transfusion, tissue, and cell centers. In line with what is outlined in the Andalusian Health Plan, the Program Contract between the Ministry of Health and the Andalusian Health Service, the Strategic Plan, the Quality Plan, and its Program Contract.
