Informative talk at the Alcer Association of Granada

Within its mutual aid group program, the Association for the Fight Against Kidney Diseases (Alcer, Granada) has extended a cordial invitation to the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia to give a talk on the relevance of donating biological samples and/or data for biomedical research During the talk, a complete overview of research biobanks will be offered, with special emphasis on the SSPA Biobank, highlighting the importance of donating samples for biomedical research. In addition, the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research will be presented as an innovative project that promotes citizen participation in biomedical research through the donation of biological samples and/or associated data.
Café-ConCiencia 2023

Location: Nodes of the SSPA Biobank in the different Andalusian provinces
Café con Ciencia is an initiative organized by the Discover Foundation, in collaboration with the main research and dissemination entities in the region, which is part of the activities of Science Week.
It consists of a coffee-talk between a scientist and a small group of guests where the expert describes his scientific activity, what his daily life is like or his hobbies, talking with the participants in a relaxed and close atmosphere, far from the traditional speaker scheme. assistant. Attendees are Secondary Education and Baccalaureate students in the morning and the general public in the afternoon.
The SSPA Biobank participates in this initiative by organizing in-person and virtual coffees in the different Andalusian provinces with students from different centers for groups of between 12 to 14 ESO and Baccalaureate students and members of Patient Associations.

ISBER Regional Congress 2023

Location : San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital (Granada)
The International Society of Biological and Environmental Sample Repositories (ISBER) will hold its next Regional Symposium in Granada on October 24 and 25. This symposium is the third European regional meeting organized by ISBER in Europe. On this occasion the symposium will be organized with the collaboration of the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia and the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital where the event will take place.
ISBER is the main society for the promotion of social activity of biobanks and is a global biobanking organization for networking, training and innovation. One of its main objectives is to share successful strategies, guides and procedures in order to provide optimal samples and associated data for biomedical research with all guarantees of quality and safety.

Meeting of patients with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (CLL)
Date : June 29, 2023
Location : Assembly hall of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital, Granada
The Hematology and Hemotherapy Service of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada has organized a meeting between healthcare workers and patients with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (CLL).
During the day, aspects related to nutrition, pharmaceutical care and emotional aspects in hematological patients will be discussed. In addition, the SSPA Biobank will present the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research. The day will end with patient testimonies.
Macro blood donation collection

Date : June 20, 2023
Venue : Granada Congress and Exhibition Palace
Next June 20, the Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center of Granada organizes a massive blood collection at the Granada Conference and Exhibition Palace. The objective of this collection is to respond to the increase in the number of donations needed daily in the province in addition to reinforcing the reserves of blood components for the holiday period. This macro-collection will be held in the morning, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and in the afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Furthermore, on this solidarity day, Biobank professionals will explain to all those interested what the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research consists of and how to become a donor.
II Informative day on research in neurodegenerative diseases and brain bank

The II Dissemination Conference on Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases and Brain Bank is an event dedicated to the dissemination and dissemination of research related to neurodegenerative diseases, as well as the importance and functioning of brain banks. This day is organized by the Tissue Bank of the Cien Foundation, the Spanish Confederation of associations of relatives of people with Alzheimer's and other dementias and the Alzheimer's Friends association of Almería.

Information day on the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research

Next May 24, the SSPA Biobank will go to one of the headquarters of the Official Institute of Professional Training MEDAC in Granada to hold an information day on the importance of donating biological samples for biomedical research.
With this conference, the SSPA Biobank aims to bring students closer to what a biobank is for biomedical research purposes, how it works, what objectives it has, how it processes biological samples, etc., as well as to convey the importance of the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research.

21st Science Fair

The Seville Science Fair is an exhibition space where the world of research, educational centers, companies, universities and citizens in general meet, whose objective is the exchange, dissemination and communication of scientific, technical and environmental knowledge. It is organized by the Andalusian Society for the Dissemination of Science (SADC), a non-profit association, and the Discover Foundation.
In this edition, the Fair will be held in person at the Seville Congress and Exhibition Palace (FIBES) and virtually on a digital platform in which all content will be included.
The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will participate for the third time in this fair in virtual format, with a virtual stand where general information about the Biobank, the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research, and the National Bank of Cell Lines will be collected. as well as demonstrations and informative workshops.

Introduction course to the study and analysis of the Human Microbiota: implications for health

Date : From April 29 to May 2, 2023

On April 29 and 30 and May 1 and 2, the first edition of the Introduction to the study and analysis of the Human Microbiota course: health implications will take place in Mojacar (Almería). The course will be developed in person and is accredited by the Andalusian Health Quality Agency (ACSA).
