II PTS Granada Research Congress

The second week of February, the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will participate with an information stand at the II PTS Granada Research Congress. During the three days that the congress will last, the Biobank professionals will explain to those attending the event the role that the biobank plays in current medical research, how human biological samples can be requested from the biobank for research and will present the Sample Donor Registry. for Biomedical Research as a tool for citizen participation in biomedical research.

Information campaign of the Donor Registry at the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital

Date: From February to April 2022

Location: San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital, Avd. Conocimiento s/n, Health Technology Park.

The Biobank of the public Health System of Andalusia (SSPA) together with the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital will carry out an information campaign on the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research. This campaign will consist of displaying information about the Biobank and the Donor Registry at the different information points available at the hospital.

The general objective of the campaign is to increase the visibility of the Biobank and the Donor Registry among citizens in general and encourage their participation in biomedical research through the donation of biological samples.

Open Innovation Forum in Biomedical Research

Date: December 2 - 3, 2021

Location: Nodes of the SSPA Biobank in the different Andalusian provinces

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia and Genyo organize this open innovation forum with the aim of promoting technology transfer and promoting R&I in the Biomedical sector through synergies and public-private collaborations, leading to an improvement of products, processes and technologies in healthcare and therefore in people's quality of life.

The forum will have a day of round tables on December 2 and some bilateral meetings on December 3. The first day will take place in person in the GENYO assembly hall and can also be followed virtually on the SSPA Biobank YouTube channel, while the meetings will all be virtual.

Theoretical-practical foundations in cell cultures online modality

Date: From October 4 to December 28

Location: Online.

The online course Theoretical-practical foundations in cell cultures aims to provide specialized training in the field of cell cultures, providing participants with theoretical/practical knowledge about equipment, techniques and types of cultures, as well as their various applications.

The course is aimed at graduates or graduates in Health Sciences, senior technicians in clinical and biomedical laboratories, senior technicians in Pathological Anatomy and cytodiagnosis, and laboratory technicians in general.

The registration deadline is September 20.

Theoretical-Practical Course in Cell Cultures

Date: December 2020

Location: Coordinating Node of the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia, CIBM building in the Health Sciences Technology Park (Granada)

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia teaches a course on Cell Cultures to 24 Vocational Training teachers from all over Andalusia.

The objective of this training is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge for working with cell cultures. It is a 40-hour course, plus a support and tutoring program after the course.

Among many other subjects, the course includes theoretical training on identification and cell culture techniques; quality standards and regulations applicable to crops; characterization, preparation, conservation, etc. of materials in the laboratory; or applications of cell cultures in fields such as regenerative medicine, drug screening, etc. In a second practical part, students deepen their knowledge of cell cultures, cytogenetics and molecular biology.

The course culminates with evaluation questionnaires to verify the knowledge acquired.

Information campaign at the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital

Date: From February 1 to April 3, 2020

Location: San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital, Avd. Conocimiento s/n, Health Technology Park.

During the months of February, March and April, the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will carry out an information campaign about the Biobank and the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research in the outpatient consultation hall of the San Cecilio Clinical University Hospital.

The general objective of the campaign is to increase the visibility of the Biobank and the Registry among citizens in general and encourage their participation in biomedical research through the donation of biological samples.

Among the activities that will be carried out is an informative talk on the SSPA Biobank, aimed at hospital professionals and four information sessions aimed at citizens. These sessions will be held at an information point that the Biobank will establish in the outpatient consultation hall of the hospital on: February 24, March 5, March 23 and April 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. . During these sessions, information will be given on the importance of donating samples for current biomedical research and the possibility of registering in the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research will be offered .

I Provincial Congress of Multiple Sclerosis

Date: October 30 and 31, 2019

Place: Aula Magna of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Granada, Granada

The Granada Association of Multiple Sclerosis (AGDEM) has organized the I Provincial Congress of People and Multiple Sclerosis under the motto of #DePersonasaPersonas that will take place on October 30 and 31 in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Sciences of Granada with the recognition of Scientific Health Interest granted by the Junta de Andalucía.

The objective of the Organizing and Scientific Committee is to hold a congress that, based on current events and scientific evidence, provides all attendees with the reality of people affected by the disease, that of their families, caregivers and friends, thus involving the person affected throughout the program and development of the congress.

The organization of the congress has invited the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia to participate in the event with a presentation on the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research and a permanent information point where those attending the event can register for the Registry. .

ReVECA Presentation Day

Location: Institute of Biomedicine of Seville, Seville

The ReVECA Registry for people interested in participating in clinical trials in Andalusia is a tool that facilitates the procedure to voluntarily participate in clinical trials and advance research into therapeutic alternatives and innovative treatments.

It is a citizen participation tool that came into operation in January 2018, being the first Registry of this type to be launched in Spain. It was created by Decree 201/2017, of December 19, and had European financing through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

During the day, two major topics will be addressed: the importance of citizen participation in clinical research and the ethical aspects of citizen participation tools and the legal aspects of clinical trials.

To address the issue of citizen participation, the Ministry of Health and Family has invited the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia to present its experience with the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research (REDMI), created by Decree 1090. /2015, of June 23, a registry that allows citizens to actively participate in research by donating biological samples and their associated data. Verónica Valdivieso will present the good health status of the REDMI, and will highlight the importance and usefulness of these Registries as tools to support research work and patients.

II Carrera Medicus Mundi Sur

Date: June 2, 2019

Place: Granada.

The Medicus Mundi Sur Solidarity Race is a sporting event that combines health and sport, being a road test with a popular solidarity nature, but at the same time competitive for those athletes who wish to do so.

This race is organized by Medicus Mundi Sur and its main objective is not economic but to make known that the NGO is celebrating 41 years serving the most disadvantaged in the world. The race will have 4 different modalities that will take place in the Zaidín neighborhood and the Health Sciences Technology Park area.

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will once again join this health and sports festival that will take place in Granada on June 2. The Biobanco will set up a stand at the finish line, located on the esplanade of the Cármenes Stadium, where it will inform participants and attendees of the event about the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research. In addition, information material will be added to the bags of each of the runners. The main purpose of this action is to publicize the existence of tools that allow citizens to participate actively and directly in biomedical research projects.

II Research Conference: A vision from Legality and Science

The Córdoba Association of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (ACOFI and CFS) organized its second research day on May 10. A vision from legality and science.
