Ist Biology Week

The Ist Biology Week is a joint initiative of the Official College of Biologists of Andalusia (COBA) and the University of Granada (UGR), scheduled to on March 11, 12 and 13, 2025. This event aims to strengthen collaboration between both institutions and bring students closer to the field of biological sciences. During these days, various activities will be carried out, including talks and workshops, both inside and outside the Faculty of Sciences, aimed at students of Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Environmental Sciences
Within the framework of this week, the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia (SSPA) will actively participate, opening its doors to attendees. This initiative, which will take place on March 13, will allow participants to learn first-hand what a research biobank is, how it works and its relevance in the current biomedical research.
II Conference on Endometriosis

Date: March 11, 2025
Location: Assembly hall of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada
Next March 11, 2025, the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will participate in the I Conference on endometriosis organized by the Association of Endometriosis Affected People of Granada and the Virgen de las Nievas University Hospital. During the day, Biobank professionals will explain to event attendees the role that the biobank plays in current medical research and will present the Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research as a tool for citizen participation in biomedical research.
The event will take place in the assembly hall of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada from 09:00.
The Role of Patient Associations in Health Research

Place: Avenida Doctor Jesús Candel Fábregas, Paraninfo, Universidad de Medicina
The Next 4 of Faithbrero, within the framework of the III PTS Congress, the SSPA Biobank, in collaboration with the San Cecilio University Hospital of Granada, the López-Neyra Institute of Parasitology, the Institute of Biosanitary Research of Granada, the PTS Foundation and the platform of Patient Associations of Granada, all of them members of the Granada es Salud Consortium, will organize the session entitled "Therole of patient associations in health research ”.
During this session, the importance of close collaboration between researchers and patient associations will be highlighted, the need to integrate these associations into scientific projects from their earliest stages will be discussed and the fundamental role thatplay in current research.

Collect biological samples and associated data

Place: On this occasion, the SSPA Biobank Coordinator Node will join the initiative and encourage attendees to participate in various research projects by donating blood, urine and associated data samples between 10:00 and 14:00.
In addition, the professionals of the SSPA Biobank will offer information and invite donors to register in the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research.

The III Donate is Life Conference is organized by the Atlántida CIDEP Professional Training center, the center for transfusion medicine, tissues and cells of Granada and the coordinating node of the research area of the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia. This day aims to promote the generation of health knowledge among students and contribute to the optimization of the altruistic donation process in order to alleviate the situation of shortage, both of blood and biological samples for biomedical research, always in accordance with universally accepted ethical principles.
The event will be held on November 16 at the facilities that the Atlántida CIPEP center has at its headquarters in Granada located at Ctra. De Córdoba, Nac. 432, Pque. Empresarial Norte, C/Acequia del Zute, nº2.
The Transfusion, Tissue and Cells Center of Granada will participate in this event, which will carry out a blood collection drive, and the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will hold information sessions on the Biobank and the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors to Biomedical Research.
Seminar 'How to Cultivate Human Pluripotent Stem Cells (hPSCs) to Boost Your Research'

We invite you to join this seminar on October 28th, organized jointly by STEMCELL Technologies and the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia, where we will explore best practices for working with hPSCs.
XVII Andalusian Volunteer Congress

The Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, through the General Secretariat of Families, Equality, Gender Violence and Diversity, is organizing the XVII Andalusian Congress of Volunteering. This edition has as its motto “Generating Solidarity” and its purpose is to generate a meeting place to share experiences and to give visibility to the great work carried out by the associative volunteer movement in Andalusia. It will be held next Monday, June 16, 2024, at the Andalusia Science Park in Granada.
The Andalusian Congress of Volunteering was created with the aim of opening a common space for all those people linked to social movements and volunteering.
In this new edition, the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia will participate with an information table where it will present to all interested parties the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research and will invite them to form part of said Registry.

Online Technology Meeting: Twinning program between Technology Parks

One of the main objectives of this meeting is to generate opportunities for collaboration and development between companies from both business ecosystems, building a solid network of intercooperation.
I International ALS Congress “Manolo Barrós”
Date : June 20 and 21, 2024
Location : Almeria
On June 20 and 21, professionals from the Biobank of the Andalusian Public Health System of the Coordinating Node, the Provincial Node of Almería and the Provincial Node of Córdoba, as well as the Brain Bank of Córdoba, have been invited to participate in the I International Congress on ALS “Manolo Barrós” to be held in Almería.
The event Organized by the CIEN Foundation (Center for Research on Neurological Diseases), financed by the Reina Sofía Foundation, and in collaboration with the Almería City Council and the Provincial Council of the province, aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as how to promote research and raise awareness in society about the reality of this pathology.
Assistance is open to researchers, health professionals, patient associations and families affected by ALS. However, registration is required to attend.
Webminar at the National Federation of ALCER Associations
